My approach to art is not rigid or overly technical, but immersive. Rather than focusing on perfect outcomes, I invite children to experience the joy of creating through a wide variety of materials and methods.
Students explore everything from recycled and nature-based materials to traditional artisan crafts—many of which are slowly disappearing in our modern world. Along the way, they develop artistic skills, creativity, and confidence while learning to appreciate the beauty of making something with their own hands.
The goal is not just to complete a project, but to cultivate curiosity, careful observation, and a lasting love for creativity.

Our class begins with a simple tea time, where the children pour tea for one another. This small ritual helps cultivate community, attentiveness, and the joy of serving others.
From there, we practice the habit of observation. Together we will study a beautiful work of art or a display from nature, taking time to notice the small details and share what we see.
During our nature classes, children will then make a nature notebook entry, drawing what they have observed. This quiet practice encourages careful attention and helps children develop the skill of recording what they notice in the world around them.
Next, we will enjoy a hands-on activity connected to the day’s theme.
Finally, the children will begin the day’s art project, where they will explore a variety of artistic techniques and mediums. These projects are designed to strengthen artistic skills while fostering creativity, patience, and delight in making.
